2013-08-11Nežinau, gal buvau ne tos nuotaikos, bet šita knyga yra vienas prasčiausių mano skaitytų detektyvų. Tuos kelis balus duodu vien už tai, kad skaitėsi lengvai. Bet neradau nei įdomaus pasakojimo, nei intrigos, tik visokių niekam nereikalingų ir neįdomių nukrypimų į šalį.

Vertimas. Be to, kad knyga neįdomi, vertimas buvo tragiškas. Šiaip jau aš ne iš tų, kurie kabinėjasi prie vertimų, bet čia buvo baisu. Baisu baisu baisu. Ateina dukra pas tėvą į svečius ir klausia “kaip tau stovi?”. Čia turėjo būti neva kažkoks padugnių žargonas klausiant apie tai, kaip sekasi, bet tokios frazės dar nesu girdėjusi. Asociacijos kyla iškart visai kitokios nei turėtų… Tokių nesąmonių – daugybė.
Stiklainių miestas. Vienintelis dėmesio vertas dalykas – tai pasakojimas apie stiklainių miestą. Tai kambarys universitete, kuriame stiklainiuose buvo laikomi organai. Šiaip jau ir pati knyga originaliai vadinasi “Stiklainių miestas”. Nors vartojamas ir antrasis pavadinimas, anas man patinka žymiai labiau. Gaila, kad apie tuos stiklainius knygoje mažai pasakojama. Užtat vietos atsirado dar vienai istorijai – apie iš vestuvių pabėgusią nuotaką. Deja, šita istorija tik pradėta ir pabaigta, o vystymo nėra. Nei šis, nei tas – reikėjo arba pasakoti viską, arba iš vis jos čia nevelti.
Istorija. Nužudymas ir jo narpliojimas man pasirodė kažkokie nevėkšliški. Pasakojimo linijos, liudijimai turėtų susipinti ir iš jų galų gale paaiškėti tiesa, bet to nebuvo. Knyga atrodė kaip dėlionė, kuriai trūksta detalių. Paveiksliuką matai, bet kažkas ne taip. Nei iš šio, nei iš to atsiranda lavonas, dingsta smegenys, tyrėjo dukra elgiasi nepaaiškinamai (ir be to, kad ji nėščia, niekas nieko daugiau ir nepaaiškina). Žodžiu, prastai.

2013-08-14 22:09Iš stiklainių supratau, kad kažkada labai seniai per Scanoramą mačiau filmą pagal šitą knygą, berods tas filmas netgi arba uždarinėjo arba atidarinėjo festivalį. Tai filmas man patiko. Ir tas detektyvas visai nieko susuktas pasirodė, ir vaizdų akims buvo.
